A date is not a remediation plan.

180-day POA&M deadline calculator

CMMC conditional status uses a limited closeout window for eligible POA&M items. This calculator adds 180 calendar days to the date you enter. Use the official status date from your record rather than the day your team happened to open a project ticket.

Choose a start date

This calculator uses calendar days and does not determine whether a finding is eligible for POA&M.

Why the window needs margin

A 180-day window can look generous until remediation requires procurement, identity redesign, endpoint replacement, provider contract changes, architecture review, implementation, testing, and evidence collection. A target that consumes the entire window leaves no room for a failed test, unavailable specialist, delayed shipment, or a finding that turns out to depend on another system.

Build backward from an internal evidence-ready date. Long-lead technical changes should start first. Policies and procedures should be updated when the underlying process is real, not used as a substitute for unfinished implementation. After implementation, collect evidence from the live environment and have someone other than the implementer verify that the requirement can be demonstrated.

Not every finding belongs on a POA&M

CMMC does not treat a POA&M as an unlimited exception list. Level 1 requirements are not carried forward through a POA&M in order to obtain the Level 1 result, and Level 2 conditional status is subject to program rules about which requirements are eligible. Verify eligibility before planning around the 180-day date.

Track the closeout as an award dependency

Use a management view with the requirement, remediation owner, technical dependency, planned implementation date, validation owner, evidence-ready date, and remaining days. Link the detailed task to the SSP and evidence index so closeout changes are reflected in the official system story, not only in a project-management board.
